High Tea Coffee Shop

High Tea is tucked away in a tranquil garden in the middle of bustling Wynberg. It is a lovely little place to meet a friend for tea and then have a stroll through the decor shops located around the courtyard.

They are best known for their individual cakes. Yes that’s right, instead of ordering a slice of cake, you are presented with a miniature lemon meringue or cheesecake. These little beauties sell for R25, which is the same price that you would pay for a slice of cake at most coffee shops in Cape Town. They also have muffins and scones baked in little flower pots. The coffee is also good, with a cup of the good stuff going for R15.

If you are in the mood for lunch their daily lunch specials, served from 12-3pm, are delicious! I recommend their melt in your mouth chicken pie or quiche, both of which are served with a generous side salad. Their lunch specials normally cost around R50, but let me tell you it is worth it!

Breakfast is served from 9am -12pm. Like the lunch specials, the menu is limited to 4 or 5 items. They believe in quality rather than quantity. The menu includes Smoked salmon, Camembert and rocket on rye and the classic Bacon, scrambled egg and tomato on toast.

High Tea is open weekdays from 09h00 – 17h00 and Saturdays from 09h00 -14h00.

High Tea is located on 53 Constantia Road, although you can access the parking lot in Whitby Road.  For more information and to check out their menu, please visit their website High Tea
